Nashville DUI & Child Endangerment Lawyer
Let Our Attorneys Protect Your Rights
While being charged with a DUI is a serious offense, the addition of driving
with a child in your car is associated with even more severe penalties.
The state of Tennessee does not tolerate child endangerment in any setting,
especially if you were suspected of drinking alcohol and driving. If a
child’s life was proven to be in danger, prosecutors will aggressively
pursue the maximum punishments.
If you have been arrested for a DUI with a child in the car, it’s
imperative to seek legal assistance from our
DUI defense attorneys. With over a decade of experience, our attorneys retain the
comprehensive knowledge of the legal system to obtain the outcome you desire.
Penalties for DUI & Child Endangerment
You will face a mandatory jail sentence of 30 days in jail and a minimum
fine of $1,000. That’s in addition to the penalties you will face
for being convicted of a DUI by itself.
If the child sustained
serious bodily injuries as a result of your violation, then you will be convicted of a Class D
felony. This results in a prison sentence between two and 12 years and a fine
of up to $5,000. If the child died due to your violation, it is considered
a Class B felony, which is associated with a prison sentence between eight
(8) to thirty (30) years, a maximum fine of $25,000, and your driver’s
license may be permanently revoked.
