Kate Bonner approaches everything in all areas of her life with passion, endurance, and vivacity. As our token Alabama native, you may hear Kate playing the University of Alabama fight song in homage to her two-time Alma Mater – indeed, she spent seven years in Tuscaloosa, first as an undergraduate, then subsequently as a law student. Kate will take one more test to complete her studies – the Tennessee Bar Exam – which she will take in 2018.
While at the University of Alabama, Kate showed her proclivity for public service. As the Community Service Director for the Public Interest Institute, Kate spearheaded a Hunger Awareness Week, a Thanksgiving Clothing Drive, and numerous volunteer opportunities within the Tuscaloosa community. In addition, Kate has worked as an extern in the Tuscaloosa County Public Defender’s Office, as an intern at the University of Alabama Domestic Violence Clinic, and as an editor of the Alabama Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Law Review.
Kate is a natural performer. After receiving her undergraduate minor in Theatre, she continued to weave entertainment into her academic career by serving as the Vice President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. Kate’s passion for Disney led her to an internship at the Walt Disney Company, and even still today, she is a Certified Disney Travel Planner.
For Kate, personal and professional life are not necessarily separate spheres – in her spare time, you can spot Kate cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide with her friends, volunteering at local soup kitchens, and playing with her cat, Mickey Meows.
